Research focus: material translation, cultural reference, sustainable composites

​Bath Coordinates is a bath accessory collection informed by my love in ceramics and inspired by onggi, traditional Korean earthenware vessels valued for their tactility and everyday use. The project explored how qualities associated with ceramic objects—form, balance, and material presence—could be translated into contemporary household products.

 

As part of the material exploration, a sample was developed using a rice husk–based plastic composite as a more sustainable alternative. The final manufactured version was produced in virgin plastic.

The set is designed for college students who live in a dorm. It consists of a soap/lotion dispenser, a canister, and a catch-all tray. It is designed to be space-saving, and multifunctional. Made with plastic.​​ Designed for Target at CHF industries.
