Collective Approach
The Growery Collective focuses on strengthening socio-natural systems by cultivating their capacity to self-organize. In contrast to expert-driven design models, the collective works through participatory processes that recognize distributed forms of knowledge and intelligence. Sustainability is understood as emerging from cultural attitudes and ecological relationships, emphasizing mutualism between human and non-human actors and a humble approach to design as an evolving process.
My Role
As a design consultant, I designed a mycelium-based DIY kit and independently researched and experimented with mycelium as a material. My contributions also included developing the collective’s website and creating communication content that supported public engagement with material experimentation and ecological design practices.
